Premium Surgical Microscope
Leica M720 OH5

The Leica M720 OH5 is the premium operating microscope for neurosurgery, otolaryngology and reconstructive microsurgery.

With this operating microscope, surgeons will benefit from greater visibility in deep cavities or lesions and improved ergonomics and comfort. The Leica M720 OH5 surgical microscope also offers full HD 3D and 2D visualization and recording, so that the entire surgical team as well as students will be able to observe and learn more easily.

More space to work

The Leica M720 optical head is the most compact of all neurosurgical microscopes. The compact optics head improves surgeon ergonomics by facilitating a more natural postural alignment, and allows greater instrument maneuverability by creating more free working space and unobstructed access to surgical area.

Excellent surgeon ergonomics

Leica Microsystems’ butterfly-binoculars accommodate all body heights, for both the surgeon and the assistant, as well as the most challenging surgical positions to ensure comfortable working during surgery. The eyepieces swing easily and quickly to a second viewing position.

Improved visibility in deep cavities

Small Angle Illumination (SAI) distributes light more evenly, and reduces shadows in the surgical field, providing: increased detail visibility, improved depth perception, and deeper light penetration. This concentrated light beam is especially beneficial for narrow surgical access techniques such as intra-tracheal, transsphenoidal or METRx™.

Intraoperative fluorescence

The surgical fluorescence modules Leica FL400 (5-ALA oncological fluorescence) and Leica FL800 (ICG vascular fluorescence) provide real-time, intraoperative information to the surgeon and OR team, directly through the microscope eyepieces or on a monitor. The information gained allows to make faster progress in work, increase surgical precision and improve patient outcomes.

Unsurpassed patient safety

Leica Microsystems is committed to helping surgeons improve patient safety and outcomes. BrightCare Plus and AutoIris™ reduce the risk of patient skin burns by automatically optimizing light intensity and diameter relative to working distance and zoom.

Full HD 3D and 2D surgical documentation

The Leica M720 OH5 surgical microscope integrates the TrueVision® 3D Surgical system or the Med X Change HDMD® 1080p/720p digital recording systems (optional). With the 3D visualization system, the entire team can now see on a monitor what traditionally could only be seen through the microscope eyepieces.
